about

After regularly jamming together for over a year in extended improvised sessions, and releasing 4 of them [ soundcloud.com/alchemeleon/sets/w-tales-from-the-trip ], Alchemeleon & Tales From The Trip decided to put together a more tightly focused set of songs as an album.
Still sticking with their strengths as improvisers, the pieces were roughly mapped out but still allowed to arrive at their destinations in unpredictable fashion and were played entirely live with no overdubs, although the tracks were edited and digitally manipulated later by Alchemeleon.
The album is heavily influenced by Chicago Footwork music and Old-School House beats, a seemingly contradictory meeting of complex and simple. This leads the music to make surprising turns that few DJs would risk tripping up dancers with, but it attempts to push the already esoteric edges of electronic music even further forward.
