Derek Whitlock had a number of songs he wanted to commit to tape, so he asked me and Jacob to help. Derek had guitar parts in mind but refused to play them, insisting that Jacob would perform them better, but he didn't know theory either so it was tough for him to teach Jacob the riffs. After hours of watching them, I hit record determined to improvise instead.
Hence, my comment at the beginning of the song.
We proceeded to jam three songs before a thunderstorm cut the electricity.
